Advanced
Illustration for Production
Narrative
Illustration Project
·
This
project will be worth 100pts, and will be done to dimensions of 11X 17 inch
Bristol (this project will not require printing, and can be posted on the class
blog for delivery.)
·
Now
that you have worked on several illustration pieces, you will now work on three further images, all to be done to
dimensions of 11X17 Bristol. For these images, you will revisit one of the
subjects you’ve covered either in the first or second project produced for this
class (you also have the option of choosing one of the concept options not used
in your previous projects); you will present the concept as a full narrative, with each sheet
representing a beginning, middle, and
end to your concept (these can be worked out through key events,
iconographical moments, or thematically visualized iconography representing a
mood connected to each part of the story.)
·
The
illustrations can be either presented vertically or horizontally as to present
the story in the best way you see fit. The images can be single images per
piece or turned into comic-style panel format if you wish (you will still be
expected to produce three separate images; three panels does not represent
three pieces) and must have the following criteria met:
-
Color
must be included in some way, and the color must be thematic towards the place
in the story we are currently at (amount of color and use is up to you.)
-
Layout
must indicate some level of transition from beginning of story to end (lead the
eye.)
-
No
limit to amount of characters included in production… but it must be more than
one.
-
And
no, your previous pieces from past projects are not part of the three
illustrations to be created.
·
Deadline for
final illustrations:
12/2/14 (Tuesday; Week Nine). Design layouts, concepts and ideas will be
reviewed on Thursday, November 20th,
2014 (20pts for reviews). There are no limits to the sketches expected, and
you may review earlier by posting on the blog. Full Project grade will be worth
100pts. No late or incomplete work will be accepted.
